Luminox Sport Timer 0900: An Insider's View

The Luminox 0900 Sports Timer is the reimagining of one of the first Luminox watches created, the Sport Timer 1540. The watch was made to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the Luminox watch company. Enthusiasts will notice that this new version has gone through some minor changes; the date window has been removed, there is a brand-new pip for the telescope, and the dial has less textural content.
What hasn’t changed, though, is the functional Swiss design. The watch is water resistant up to 200 meters, or about 656 feet, is motion-powered by Ronda 513 quartz, and a sapphire crystal provides anti-reflective and anti-scratch features. This makes the extraordinary timepiece strong and durable enough for you to use in harsh weather or climates and allows you to swim without concern. Because the 0900 is commonly used by Navy SEALS, law enforcement officers, first responders, and the military, Luminox focused on giving the watch extreme readability. The company installed a self-contained lighting system that uses tritium gas gentle tubes. This technology illuminates the time, in 24-hour scale, using a black analog dial, bringing you back to the mid-20th century when a solid, analog watch was the gold standard for quality and endurance.
American Style
Along with Swiss functionality, the Luminox 0900 has a modern, yet vintage American aesthetic. The watch is made from stainless steel, has a screw-down crown, and the backside (also screw-down) is engraved with a Luminox star and “1989-2019” to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the manufacturer. An engraving of the limitation quantity (there are only 730 available), and the phrase “Invented within the USA. Swiss Made” are also included on the back.
The Luminox 0900 Sport Timer comes with two unique Luminox watch bands. One is a brown NATO strap, and the other is a stainless-steel dive bracelet with buckle and security clasp. Having two options allows you to change the look of the 0900 whenever the need arises. Luminox made only 730 Sports Timer 0900 watches. The 7 stands for the month the Luminox Company was formed, which was July. The 30 stands for the number of years the company has been in business.
